That Lonely Sinking Feeling
She says, "I'm getting that lonely sinking feeling,
you know what I mean?"
With his hand on her back he's thinking,
"Where does that leave me?"
"Just when I think I've uncovered the secret
to peace and tranquility
that lonely sinking feeling creeps up on me."
He says, "I'm seeing those doubt filled
questioning eyes
and I can't believe it's true."
With her head in her hands she sighs,
"It's me, not you."
"Just when I thought that I'd discovered the joy
of loving one so completely
that lonely sinking feeling creeps up on me."
Here in this silent room we wait on ancient ritual.
Staring at our hearts
as if they were two caged animals.
If I am the first to unlock those rusty doors
will I be the first found bleeding on the floor?
She says, "I'm getting that lonely sinking feeling,
you know what I mean?"
With his hand on her back he's thinking,
"Where does that leave me?"
"Just when I think I've uncovered the secret
to peace and tranquility
that lonely sinking feeling creeps up on me.
Just when I thought that I'd discovered the joy
of loving one so completely
that lonely sinking feeling creeps up on me.
that lonely sinking feeling creeps up on me."

Sometimes that lonely sinking feeling does creep up on me and I'm not even sure why. There are seasons for everything and maybe that is just a season that is important to indulge yourself in. Not wallow though - we mustn't ever wallow :)
Thank you Kimala. And that is the tough part...figuring out if I'm feeling or if I'm wallowing. Am I embracing the feeling or am I holding on to it. There is a difference.
What we resist, persists though...so we can't avoid it...or run away....or push it away. Welcome it, feel it, learn from it and let it go.
Now, if I can only do that as easily as I can type it...lol.
Welcome it, feel it, learn from it and let it go???
Are you serious? LOL
I just want to kick it's ass! Avoid at all cost. Shop instead!!
Is that why I still have the maturity of a 14 yr old? hmmmm...??
Great post and equally awesome comment. :)
*hugs*

I'm still very likely to shop or escape somehow. Very likely. I switch between 14 year old and 24 year old. Occasionally I act my age.....32 years old. Yup, I'm 32.
Uh huh
:-D
Personally, I choose ice cream. It seems to solve almost all problems - if it includes chocolate in some form :)
32? I'm 25 so I'm still younger than you. uh huh!
Did someone say chocolate? JJ begins to sniff the air like a bloodhood....she can sniff out chocolate from a mile away.
Kimala!! You must share! ;-
It's gonna take a lot more than chocolate for this one.....
:-(
:( You know where you can find me...so do, k?
Love you, C! *hugs*
These guys do write some amazing human condition lyrics C. Thanks for sharing them. The lonely sinking feeling happens to all of us otherwise we wouldn't be human. We are incredible things but we aren't perfect, we are flawed. But like Kimala says its all about reslience. I know I spelled it wrong:). In these months that I've known you, you have always impressed me as a person who can always find avenues for growth in any situation. I don't think you need chocolates or anything else to pull you up. i think God really blessed you with an incredible brain and spirit to get to where you are. You impress me Crighton. There is a lot I could learn from you dude.
Thanks, D. We all learn from each other. Trust me, I have some serious shit that I deal with on a daily basis. I guess we all do. It's nice to be aware of it though. There are a lot of people who are not, and to watch the wreak havoc on others is sad. I think we can both think of at least one like that.
I've loved reading your blogging too, and I've learned from you. I haven't commented as much as I would like, but I can barely find the time right now to make a proper entry in my own blog lately...lol.
What are the last three? Two quizzes and a copy/paste on a song? Talk about a slacker...lol.
